Description
Australia’s Pawsey Supercomputing Center and Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Science and Technology (AIST) recently signed a Letter of Intent to cooperate on projects to develop practical quantum/classical supercomputing capabilities. Although specifics have yet to be defined, the intent is to build an Australian/Japanese ecosystem for a quantum-ready future, ultimately creating a national computational fabric spanning HPC, AI, and quantum. Targeted applications are to include drug discovery, materials development, and national security.
