In October 2022, the 81st HPC User Forum took place at HLRS Stuttgart, Germany. This update summarizes a presentation from that conference given by Roland Krüppel, who is responsible for the HPC activities at the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (abbreviated BMBF for Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung). This presentation and brief Q&A session was meant to highlight the German HPC strategy, give an overview of the current situation, and discuss their plans for the future.
